Hot off the reveal of two modified and specially equipped truck concepts at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show in February, Nissan is following up with another, entitled Project Basecamp, which targets hard-core overlanding enthusiasts.

The new concept is based on a twin-cab Nissan TITAN XD PRO-4X and features a heavy-duty chassis, a 5.0L Cummins turbodiesel engine generating 555 lb-ft of torque and a cargo bed replete with innovative loading and storage solutions. It also goes far beyond the current production model in integrating some 60 specialized parts and accessories.

Of particular note are the 17-inch wheels fitted with hard-gripping off-road tires, a suspension lift kit for the four wheels (that can increase ground clearance by 3 inches), custom-designed fender flares and bumpers, rock sliders along the full length of the cab, specialized lights front, top and back and a front-mounted winch.

Want more for your extreme overlanding trek? The new Project Basecamp concept also features a Leitner Designs Overland bed cage, a Rhino Rack Pioneer roof rack system, a Foxwing awning, a Mt. Rainier Stargazer tent and a Black Forest portable Fridge Freezer, not to mention water canisters, shovels, an emergency kit and much more. The truck even comes with a custom Patriot Camper X2 Off Road Adventure trailer.
