Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular 4×4 SUVs in the market. It is a capable off-roader and we have seen several video of the same online as well. There are several examples of modified current generation Thar in the country but, the one that we are about to show in the video is quite unique. It is probably the only overlanding Mahindra Thar in the country. The owner has made several modifications to the car and for his next road trip he added a new accessory to his Thar. What accessory is that, let’s check the video.
The video has been uploaded by DCV Expeditions on their YouTube channel. This is a very popular Mahindra Thar on the internet as there are several road trip videos of the same car. He had made completely customised the exterior and interiors earlier to make it more suitable for his road trips. He has equipment like winch, All Terrain tyres, Linex Coating on bumper and metal parts to protect them from scratches and rust.

On the inside, the car has refrigerator, inverter and gas stove and a table on the tailgate and other features. He even has a tent installed on the roof of the Thar. He has converted his Thar into a mini home. It looks like Vlogger is now preparing for his next road trip and in the last trip he was exposed to too much sun and got sunburns. In order to avid such a situation in his next trip, vlogger is getting an awning installed on his Thar. Awning will provide the vlogger some shade during daytime, whenever he is travelling through an area where the temperature is quite high.
The video shows the installation process of awning. The awning that vlogger has opted for Thar is quite lightweight which means it will be easier for him to use on his trips. He had removed his tent so that they can easily install the awning on one side. The person who was working on the car, took measurements and then made custom brackets that will sit on the roof rack perfectly.
The vlogger mentions that the car Awning looks very oddly placed but it will blend in with rest of the accessories once the tent is placed on the roof. Once the equipment was installed, the vlogger asked his friend to show how the awning would actually look on Thar after unfolding. It is a 2 meter x 2 meter Awning which provides ample amount of shade. The support for the awning is actually integrated well inside the cloth itself and once fabric has been completely unfolded, the driver can simply fix it on the ground and enjoy the view.
The vlogger can fold and unfold this things alone if needed. overall, the modification looks very neat and without any doubt it is still one of the best looking overlanding Mahindra Thar in the country. The vlogger had initially bought the soft top LX variant. He then got a hard top installed from Bimbra 4×4. Most of the modification on this Thar has been done by Bimbra 4×4.
