The awning from a business collapsed on two cars Monday in the 6800 block of Longview Road.

According to the Kansas City Fire Department, it appears a vehicle hit part of the structure holding up the awning at GenX Clothing.

There was one person near one of the vehicles when the awning came down. That person was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators with the city's Dangerous Buildings unit have been called to look into the collapse.
