If you are looking for budget-friendly trips, the New Forest National Park is a great option

As the cost of living crisis hits budgets, research reveals the best hiking destinations in the UK for a budget-friendly family trip. Outdoor clothing retailer Millets analysed numerous factors, including Trip Advisor reviews, the average length of the walks in the area, nearest beaches, facilities, child-friendly restaurants, average temperatures and number of visitors, to reveal the hiking spots fit for all the family.

The New Forest National Park stole the top spot, beating all of the other locations on the list for most factors looked at. Over a quarter of all walks in the park are kid-friendly. There are 48 family-friendly campsites around the huge Hampshire woodland and of all the restaurants in Lyndhurst, 81% are child-friendly.

There is no charge to enter the park. Families can enjoy a cheap day out by bringing their own picnic and exploring the woodlands for free. There are plenty of affordable tent pitches should you want to stay the night, although a round-trip can be made in a day.
