Featuring a monster, truck-sized camper with more features than a standard-sized apartment.

YouTube channel The Fast Lane Truck heads out to the Overland Expo Mountain West to take a look at some high performance, heavy duty pickup trucks designed for camping, off-roading or just about anything else you can imagine.

These highly capable, heavy-duty trucks are not your standard run-of-the-mill pickups - check out the video to see five insane trucks ranked from most sensible to most extreme.

The first truck up is a Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 with the Duramax diesel engine that will no longer be available after the 2022 model year when Chevy moves the Colorado to an all 4-cylinder, gasoline engine lineup.

This ZR2 has updated tires and wheels as well as a King off-road suspension system - the truck also has a small truck topper with a rooftop tent.

The Fast Lane Truck describes this as a fairly realistic, cost-effective off-road system designed for anyone who likes to camp off the beaten path, this setup could get replicated on virtually any mid-size pickup like the Jeep Gladiator or Nissan Frontier like it is on this Colorado.

Next up is a Ram 1500 from Bowen Customs, the truck is riding on 35" tires and has a lift kit as well. The Laramie Longhorn Ram truck was a short-bed originally; chosen because the owner wanted a truck with V8 power and the HEMI provides the level of power he wants.

Next, the original bed is gone and replaced with a flat-bed with a canopy sitting on top of it with an emphasis on storage and space throughout - it's a capable, functional setup that is a step above the one on the Colorado.

Moving on, next there is a Toyota Tundra, with a V8 engine, which is no longer available on new Tundras.

This Toyota has an upgraded suspension but stock wheels with all-terrain tires - the camper setup on the back could cost between $30,000-$40,000 and is a highly functional build like the one on the Ram that came before it.

It's not every day that you can walk underneath a truck as is the case with this build from Elevation Off Grid with a Ford F-550 chassis as the base.

This highly-capable truck carries the ability to have two tents on top and is a commercial grade level truck with a unique, multi-link suspension system.

The truck can carry a 9,000 lb payload with a custom-built 10-foot bed designed to resemble a standard pickup truck.

This truck is likely a 7-figure build with a combination of supreme durability and comfort.

The final truck is by far the most insane, which equates to a build with a cost of over $1,000,000. This off-road ready camper has a Stewart & Stevenson Chassis from a crane that the owner built from the frame up.

It has a fully functional kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and entertaining space as well as a deck off the side of the truck.

The owner states that he likes to drive the truck to the tide line of the ocean and enjoy the water coming right up to the truck.

From standard to out of this world, the trucks in this video offer a great idea of the range of off-road modifications to add to a truck to truly make it your own.
